Happy Birthday, Werner Aisslinger!
Werner Aisslinger turned 40 on November 3, 2004. The Loftcube, a mobile living unit, is among his most recent projects.
Werner Aisslinger, born in 1964, studied design at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin. He later worked as a freelancer, among others for Jasper Morrison and Ron Arad in London. In 1993 he founded the Studio Aisslinger, with a focus on the fields of products and brand architectures as well as creative consulting, research and material and technology oriented projects. Since 1994, Werner Aisslinger has been working as a guest professor at HdK in Berlin and at the Lahti Design Institute in Finland. In addition, he has been a professor of product design at Karlsruhe Hochschule für Gestaltung since 1998. Among his works are chairs for Chappellini and Zanotta, a storage module for magis, a shop concept for adidas and many more. The Loftcube, a mobile living container on legs, which can be used – for example – on flat roofs, combines a space efficient concept with sophisticated design.
