Thomas Kurppa, born in 1970, studied at the Forsberg School of Graphic Design in Stockholm from 1996 until 1999. He subsequently worked as a designer at Wallpaper magazine in London, and from 2000 until 2002 as art director at Bobby United Design, which he co-founded. He became art director at Stockholm Design Lab in 2002 and has held the same position at the Pharmacy Sthlm design office since 2007. Thomas Kurppa is a guest lecturer at the Forsberg School of Graphic Design, among other places, and a member of various juries, including the Golden Egg Award in Sweden and the Institute of Designers in Ireland. He has won several awards, such as the Merit Award, the Distinctive Merit Award of the Art Directors Club New York and the Young Swedish Design Award and the Swedish Golden Egg Award.
