Frido Steinen-Broo, born 1952, apprenticeship as a type-setter, studied in Berlin, Bordeaux and Lausanne, graduated at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin. Following this, two and a half years work at Friedrich Verlag (publishers), and then freelance work in Berlin. From 1993 to 1996 senior designer for Metadesign, with work including the development of the corporate image of Springer, a publishing house, Heidelberg and Mabeg, Soest. He has been living in Spain since March 1996 and founded eStudio Calamar in 1997, which focuses on corporate and editorial design.
