Trends and impressions from the imm cologne 2005
red dot online presents the latest colours, forms, materials, and news
Like every year, the new international living trends were presented at the Cologne furniture trade, and red dot was there for you exclusively searching for the most important novelties and developments. Apart from products for the living area, for the second time the imm cologne presented everything for the kitchen.
The central role of design for the imm becomes apparent in the fact that design is still the dominant topic at the trade fair in Cologne – for all products offered. red dot has put together the annual trend report with relevant developments, news and tendencies.
The economic mood at the fair was characterised by guarded optimism. More and more exhibitors seem to recognise that moping does not make things better. Instead, they reached the insight that finally action has to be taken. “Think globally, act locally” is one of the maxims followed by more and more people, because particularly for the furniture industry the international business becomes increasingly important. Regions of real growth for furniture consumption can be found in the USA, Eastern Europe, Russia, and China. Those who manage to become active with the highest design quality will look into the future with confidence.
In total, there were 1,329 exhibitors from 49 countries at the trade fair. The foreign exhibitors made up 64.8 percent. More than 130,000 visitors informed themselves about the news and innovations of the trade during the seven days, out of which 30,000 consumers visited the trade fair on the two days open to the general public.
The following trend galleries will inform you clearly about the most important international developments in the fields of design trends, colours, forms and materials from the imm cologne 2005.
