Design is not for itself alone

The Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen is a registered association based in Essen, Germany. A brief glance at the articles of association reveals what it sets out to do:

"The purpose of the association is the promotion of knowledge, research and education concerning design, the promotion of education in the handling of design and the promotion of the art and culture of design. This purpose is to be pursued by actions including but not limited to exhibitions in Germany and abroad, presentations and consulting services on topics and questions relevant to design, and the organisation of international academic congresses on the theory and history of design."
