Individualisation of mobility

Competition in the automobile industry constantly increases as a result of globalisation, as do technological developments and production facilities. Thus more and more options for automobile types and segments are developing. The many possible combinations of model, colour, and equipment of a vehicle as well as the combination of elements of different vehicle types to create a new type allow a high degree of individualisation.

The automobile industry is constantly expanding its offer in order to meet the different customer needs.
By now there is a suitable vehicle type for any need and any personality: The SUVs and off-road vehicles appeal to the adventurer, cabriolets highlight freedom and fun of driving, and large, fast saloon and sports cars, which can do anything and are not subject to ecological considerations, satisfy the desire for luxury.

The middle class of western society continues to polarise into upper and lower middle class, and this is reflected in the range of vehicles offered. The automobile industry reacts with intelligent small cars, for which space-saving concepts and energy-saving technologies are developed while luxury saloon cars are defined by elegant understatement. With new information and entertainment technologies the luxury features have developed further particularly in the interior.

Due to the individualisation of upper class vehicles an additional class was generated, which enables manufacturers of small numbers to define a new horizon and to demonstrate the limits of possible luxury of mobility and sportiness in this area.

On the following pages we present the news from the fields of “SUVs & Off-Roaders”, “Cabriolets & Coupés”, “Luxury Cars”, and “Concept Cars”.
