Cabriolets & coupés

Cabriolets continue to fascinate. New technological developments lead to a tendency to give the classical cabriolet a solid folding roof. This is aimed at uniting the desire for safety and fun of driving and converting the traditional sporting cabriolet into a car that can be driven all year round.

VW Eos with three-piece steel roof
Volkswagen has developed the EOS, a cabriolet coupé with a three-piece steel roof, which is to combine the characteristics of a coupé, sliding, and cabriolet roof.  The special roof construction allows for a short windscreen frame and compact rear end. With its roof opened, Eos has the proportions of a classical cabriolet, while the closed roof resembles that of a coupé.

Jaguar XK Coupé
This sports car was created on the basis of the ‘Advanced Lightweight Coup’ study. The design’s main characteristics are smooth, flowing surfaces, a long bonnet, comparatively steep windscreen and rear window, emphasised wheel houses with large wheels and minimal overhangs.
The interior is furnished with noble materials and is sportier than before. The model can be started at the touch of a button without a key and can also be opened without a key – thanks to its ‘keyless entry’ system. The minimalist design of the instrument panel features retro elements in the form of two large round instruments with chrome ring surrounds.

Bentley Arnage Drophead Coupé
The four-seat two-door cabriolet is a successor of the Bentley Azure. The characteristic front and the platform were taken over from the current Arnage series, while the interior and the back were completely redesigned. The interior’s combination of light leather and light wood has been influenced by contemporary furniture design.

Porsche Cayman S
The sports coupé’s face is characterised by its asymmetrical main headlights, which are positioned far on the outside, and large air inlets on the sides, into which fog-lamps and position lamps have been integrated on narrow bars. The lines of the side view emphasise the middle engine position and the compact construction. It is dominated by sweeping and strongly raised wings as well as a more strongly curved roof and an evenly sloping rear end. The air inlets on the sides are reminiscent of the Boxster, but differ due to the vertical arrangement of the lamellae.

Honda Civic with new interior concept
The new Honda Civic presents a newly developed interior concept, where the back seats can fold away into the floor.
Its short front end and distinct wedge shape give its exterior a striking look. The interior concept includes a flexible back seat system. The front seats can be locked in a vertical position. This results in a relatively high space behind the front seats, which is even large enough to transport a mountain bike. The back seats can also be completely folded into the floor.
