“Steel in Form – Between Luxury and Durability”
In line with the annual conference STAHL 2005 “Werte im Wandel” (“Changing Values”),
the German Steel Institut VDEh and the Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (German Steel Federation), together with red dot, are extending invitations on 10 November 2005 to the International Design Forum “Stahl in Form – zwischen Luxus und Beständigkeit” (“Steel in Form – Between Luxury and Durability”).
Internationally known designers from Europe and the USA will lecture on the subject of luxury and durability of steel as basic material in the industry fields “Dwelling and Living”, „Luxury and Lifestyle” as well as “Motorcars and Mobility”.
The program is cast with international high-profile participants, ranging from Alberto Alessi and the New York City-based design avant-gardist Karim Rashid, all the way to Paolo Pininfarina, creator of sporting Ferraris, and Patrick le Quément, designer in the board of the automotive manufacturer Renault.
Designers leading the field in their industry introduce projects around the topic of steel, highlighting the creative potential of this basic material, and showing innovative design strategies serving the opening of markets. Because besides steel, hardly any other material offers such a broad range of potential applications, combining quality, durability, elegance and luxury in its design.
