Nomos Glashütte builds fine watches with precision clockworks in Glashütte. More than 200 of the best watch makers in the world are working in this valley of the eastern Ore Mountains. At Nomos, about 50 employees produce state-of-the-art precision watches, and each year they build more. The "Nomos-makers" actually build watches, as they say, simply for themselves. Finest watches, which are nonetheless affordable - and "so beautiful that for decades one wants to carry and look at them every day."
In their reference to the Bauhaus and the Deutscher Werkbund, Nomos watches are the prime example of the term "Made in Germany". In 2000, Nomos made a giant leap forward - they were the only clock manufacturers to exhibit on the World's Fair in Hanover. The first edition of their Expo models was sold-out even before the exhibition opened. More than any other of the five standard models, the Tangente is clearly identified with Nomos. The watch, whose language of form goes back to the 1920s, but has been translated into our times, has received numerous awards since 1992. Distinctive, above all, for the reduced height, the slim bezel and the letters.
