Javier Mariscal

Javier Mariscal, born in 1950, studied graphic design at Escuela Elisava in Barcelona. His professional career began with a range of art exhibitions. His works are included in numerous exhibitions worldwide. Stations to date include Kassel, Paris, Milan, Valencia and Bilbao. As a designer he works in such different fields as textiles, illustration, furniture design and interior architecture. He designs furniture, textile and porcelain collections for companies such as Alessi, Lalique, Memphis or Sangetsu. In 1989 Javier Mariscal founded the “Estudio Mariscal” in Palo Alto. Together with Alfredo Arribas Arquitectos he designed the Acuarinto interactive children’s area at the Huis Ten Bosch theme park (Japan 1992). This project combines architecture, graphic design, sculpture and cartoons.
