Junior prize: a little masterpiece on the subject of being a woman
The book ‘Frau Wow’ (Misses Wow), designed by Katja Schwalenberg, a young designer from Leipzig, was judged the best student work, receiving the junior prize and Euro 2,500.
In her book ‘Frau Wow’ (Misses Wow) the junior prize winner Katja Schwalenberg literally sketches the many facets of being a woman in 21 chapters. Each chapter is designed in a different graphic language of forms, from portraits through pencil drawing to wax crayon drawing - “a true little masterpiece, which has instantly impressed the members of the jury with its concept and loving execution”, said Zec.
Further nominated works were ‘Im Takt’ (In the rhythm) by Michaela Burger from Düsseldorf and the interactive application ‘Wetterküche’ (Weather kitchen) by Marc Karpstein, Amsterdam and Bernhard Staiber, Düsseldorf.
