Ferrari: New Concepts of the Myth
Ferrari had invited the students of four renowned design academies to create their Ferrari of the future. Of the 20 models submitted the jury with Luca di Montezemolo and design maestro Sergio Pininfarina elected four winners late in October 2005. The prototypes on a scale of 1:4 can be visited in the Galleria Ferrari in Maranello until 18 January 2006. After the exhibition in the head office the 20 final models will go on a travelling exhibition around the world.
The 20 finalists of the automobile designers of tomorrow come from 13 different countries. The four winning models were designed by students of the European Institute of Design in Turin, the Coventry School of Art and Design, the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, and Tokyo Communication Arts. The promising new generation of designers will be rewarded with a design course at Pininfarina or Ferrari. On the occasion of the international red dot design award in Essen Pininfarina was elected the design team of the year 2004.
The four winning models are named „Millechili“, created by the design student Luis Agullo Spottorno from Spain and Felix Hiller from Germany who are studying at the Instituto Europeo di Design in Turin; „Fiorano“,designed by Rob Battams and Tom Hardman from England and by David Imai from the USA at the Coventry University – School of Art & Design; “Tre Diviso” by Daisuke Nagasato, Japan, Kim Teakyujng, Korea and Hiroaki Yakubo, Japan at the University Tokyo Communication Arts; and “Ascari” also created by students of the Instituto Europeo di Design, Turin, Manuele Amprimo and Werner Gruber from Italy and Yu Jae-Cheul from Korea.
