Furnishing and tableware trends

A dominating furnishing trend, as there was in the past, can no longer be detected. Instead, many different styles are combined individually.

East meets West

Thanks to globalisation the interest in foreign cultures and faraway countries has grown, while the significance of regional cultural identities has also increased. Against this background, the dialogue between eastern and western stylistic elements becomes increasingly significant.  Asia in particular is currently playing an influential role. Design has deliberately turned away from the garish Asia Pop of recent years. It is traditional Asian arts and crafts, bamboo, and ornamental characters that currently inspire the design of many living room accessories.

The Asian reservation is expressed in classical colours such as china red, black and gold as well as combinations of shining and matt surfaces. The language of forms is accordingly puristic.

Baroque meets purism

In the field of tableware a subtle play with contrasting forms, colours and materials creates dramatic harmonies. The forms of current designs follow Baroque and Rococo themes, while also featuring austere elements at the same time. Baroque contours are mixed with otherwise reserved design elements, and sophisticated baroque and floral décors adorn simple puristic forms. High, slim floor vases have been separated from their original function and are used as sculptures in space instead.

Besides warm hues of brown and lush colours of autumn leaves, which convey a warm, harmonious atmosphere, above all gold, black and white are the dominant colours – the latter are also often combined with one another. Combinations consisting of matching shades are also often used and convey elegance. White continues to be the primary colour in the field of crockery and porcelain with colourful accents in the décor.

Thought-out systems that can be continuously extended, modified and put together individually set examples in the field of crockery. The idea of a classical dinner service which consists of one product line only has been abandoned. Enjoying your personal furnishings and accessories, expressing yourself, and playfully mixing different looks to create a highly individual style - this becomes more and more important.
