red dot in Brno

After the successful presentation of the special exhibition “Design on stage – winners red dot award: product design 2006” in the Prague Mozart Museum the touring exhibition is now visiting the Czech town of Brno. The Czech Design Center Brno presents the special exhibition from 26 September to 22 October 2006. The festive vernissage of the special exhibition took place on 25 September 2006.

The touring exhibition presents selected award-winning products of this year’s red dot award: product design whose festive awards presentation took place on 26 June 2006 in the Essen Aalto Theatre. The special exhibition “Design on stage – winners red dot award: product design 2006” was on show in the red dot design museum from 27 June to 23 July 2006 and is now presented to the Czech public.

A presentation such as the touring exhibition of the red dot design award does not only have commercial reasons, but promotes young creative designers in the respective host country and offers the opportunity to have an in-depth look at the topic of design. Therefore the event supports the creative potentials and encourages young designers to face national and international competition.

The Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen has been highly successful with the red dot in the international market. The distinction is regarded as an indicator of outstanding design achievements. Products that receive this distinction are highly praised in the industry. With more than 5,000 entries from almost 50 nations the red dot is one of the most successful design competitions worldwide. Nevertheless, the worldwide visibility of the competition is constantly developed further. The touring exhibition, which features the current award-winning products, offers the great chance to make outstanding design quality also accessible to a broad international public.
