The Product Design competition has existed since 1954. Its award, the Red Dot, is an internationally recognised quality seal. The best products receive the Red Dot: Best of the Best award.

The competition for Design Concepts and prototypes is held annually in Singapore. The highest award for the best of all concepts is the Red Dot: Luminary which includes prize money of SGD 5,000.

The highest award in the Communication Design competition is the “Red Dot: Grand Prix” for the best work in a category. The “Red Dot: Junior Prize”, which includes prize money of 10,000 euros, will be awarded to the best student work.

“Well-designed products result from the inside out”: interview with Red Dot juror Gordon Bruce

At the heart of the Red Dot Award: Product Design is its jury. With their specialist knowledge, some 40 recognised experts from around the world guarantee the high quality standards and thus the value of the Red Dot seal. Soon, they will gather again in order to test, discuss and assess every single entry in an evaluation process lasting several days. Part of the expert panel in 2017 will be Gordon Bruce, who knows about the importance of good design for the success of a product. More

Outstanding design and its makers: the A’tolan House

Once a year, the jury of the Red Dot Award: Product Design awards objects of high design quality. In 2016, only 1.5 percent of all entries received the highest distinction “Red Dot: Best of the Best”. “BIKE | DESIGN | CITY”: exhibition with Red Dot awarded products in Switzerland

With the exhibition “BIKE | DESIGN | CITY”, Gewerbemuseum Winterthur in Switzerland takes a look at the wide variety of bike scenes in evidence today, explores cycling’s rich development potential for urban transport and examins some possible future scenarios. Outstanding design and its makers: the bike “SLADDA”

Once a year, the jury of the Red Dot Award: Product Design awards objects of high design quality. In 2016, only 1.5 percent of all entries received the highest distinction “Red Dot: Best of the Best”. It goes to the best products of a category, among them the IKEA bike “SLADDA”. Start of the “interzum award: intelligent material & design 2017”
