The Product Design competition has existed since 1954. Its award, the Red Dot, is an internationally recognised quality seal. The best products receive the Red Dot: Best of the Best award.

The competition for Design Concepts and prototypes is held annually in Singapore. The highest award for the best of all concepts is the Red Dot: Luminary which includes prize money of $5,000.

The highest award in the Communication Design competition is the “Red Dot: Grand Prix” for the best work in a category. The “Red Dot: Junior Prize”, which includes prize money of 10,000 euros, will be awarded to the best student work.

Red Dot Award: Product Design celebrates an anniversary - 60 free registrations for those starting out on their career

For one entire year, hundreds of young designers wait for one special day in the Red Dot Award: Product Design, which could provide the essential impetus to their professional future: Every year, the Young Professionals Application Day offers 50 free registrations for up-and-coming talents in one of the most renowned design competitions in the world. “Taiwanese Design Faces” in the Red Dot Design Museum Taipei

A special exhibition which focuses on the creative minds behind award-winning designs is presented in the Red Dot Design Museum Taipei from 13 November 2014 – 29 March 2015. “Taiwanese Design Faces” tells stories – about five Taiwanese designers. The presentation introduces the people who create innovative products, convince manufacturers to produce these, and who give advice and support during the whole development process, from the idea to the finished good. A selection of elaborately designed products documents their respective work and know-how, and provides insights into the large variety of Taiwanese product design. More

60 years of award-winning design - Red Dot Award: Product Design is looking for strong designs and innovations for 2015

The registration phase for the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2015 starts on 3 November 2014. The hallmark of good design which is recognised all over the globe will be awarded to today’s best products and projects. Its history stretches back 60 years: in 1955, a jury convened for the first time to assess the best designs of the day. This year`s party of creativity - Red Dot laureates celebrated until dawn

On 24 October 2014, the Red Dot, one of the most renowned accolades of the communication design scene, was awarded in Berlin. The highlight of the Red Dot Award: Communication Design in the metropolis of creativity was exciting until the end: only at the Red Dot Gala it was announced, who received the price for the best talent endowed with 10,000 Euros and which communication design was honoured with the Red Dot: Grand Prix. 13 top communication works impressed as the best of their category and were therefore presented with the highest individual award of the competition.
