The Product Design competition has existed since 1954. Its award, the Red Dot, is an internationally recognised quality seal. The best products receive the Red Dot: Best of the Best award.

The competition for Design Concepts and prototypes is held annually in Singapore. The highest award for the best of all concepts is the Red Dot: Luminary which includes prize money of SGD 5,000.

The highest award in the Communication Design competition is the “Red Dot: Grand Prix” for the best work in a category. The “Red Dot: Junior Prize”, which includes prize money of 10,000 euros, will be awarded to the best student work.

Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2016 - Further jurors confirmed

The next jurors for the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2016 are confirmed: Among others, Holger Windfuhr, Creative Director at the WirtschaftsWoche, will once again support the jury with his know how. Having grown up in the USA, Holger Windfuhr studied psychology at the University of Michigan. Afterwards, he studied graphic design in Munich and completed the Kellogg-WHU Executive MBA program. He started his career as a designer at Focus. Later he switched to the German edition of Forbes. More

Designers' Night – party with international design stars at the Red Dot Design Museum

On 4 July 2016, following the Red Dot Gala, the international design scene gets together in the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany, for the Designers' Night. On that evening, around 1,800 guests from around the world celebrate the winners of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2016, a leading international competition for product design. The after show party is also the opening of the winners’ exhibition “Design on Stage”. More

Design concepts wanted - last chance to participate in Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2016

Only until 18 May 2016 design studios, companies, universities, research laboratories, inventors and students are asked to participate in the competition for design concepts. The Red Dot Award: Design Concept evaluates good design before it becomes a product and is thus an important evaluation platform for these development steps that happen before a serial production.
