The Product Design competition has existed since 1954. Its award, the Red Dot, is an internationally recognised quality seal. The best products receive the Red Dot: Best of the Best award.

“Today, we are surrounded by more design, thus better products, than in the past.”: interview with Red Dot juror Aleks Tatic

At the heart of the Red Dot Award: Product Design is its jury. With their specialist knowledge, about 40 recognised experts from around the world guarantee the high quality standards and thus the value of the Red Dot seal. In the end of February they gathered in order to test, discuss and assess every single entry in an evaluation process lasting several days. In 2017, Aleks Tatic was again part of the expert committee, for whom the role of design in everyday life has changed: “Because companies recognised the competetive factor ‘design’, they are running design more and everywhere.” More

Award-winning design and its makers: the portable 3D measurement system “MetraSCAN 3D/HandyPROBE/C-Track”

Once a year, the jury of the Red Dot Award: Product Design awards objects of high design quality. In 2016, only 1.5 percent of all entries received the highest distinction “Red Dot: Best of the Best”. It goes to the best products of a category, such as the portable 3D measurement system “MetraSCAN 3D/HandyPROBE/C-Track” . Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2017 – start of the competition in the anniversary year

The Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2017 has commenced. It offers agencies, designers and companies from all over the world a platform for evaluating their design and creative achievements. They can submit their works and projects to the international competition featuring 18 categories by no later than 9 June 2017. A 24-member jury will assess each individual entry separately and will award the Red Dot seal only to those that win it over with good design quality and creativity. More
