From 25 July until 10 August 2014, the Red Dot Design Museum Essen presents an exhibition of a special kind. Tickling all senses and getting first-hand experience of award-winning products: The exploration of the “Design Experience Exhibition” animates visitors to touch around and get surprised by the design of everyday items. This way, visitors experience materials and forms in a completely different perspective and meet the various aspects of prizewinning design. The special exhibition sharpens the power of judgment and imparts the basics of good design. More

Outstanding product design does not only need to be communicated, but first of all be presented. Traditionally, the Red Dot Design Museum Essen shows all award-winning works of the Red Dot Award: Product Design in a four-week special exhibition before they will be placed into the museum`s permanent presentation for at least one year or will be on tour in travelling exhibitions. When the Red Dot Design Museum Essen opens its doors on 8 July 2014, visitors can look forward to international high-class designs. Until 3 August 2014, the latest Red Dot-awarded products will be presented in the former boiler house of UNESCO World Heritage Zollverein coal mine in Essen Germany. For four weeks, two special exhibitions will turn the museum into a hot spot for industrial design at the highest level: While “Design on Stage” showcases successful designs from 47 nations, “People Driven” grants insights into the work of the Red Dot: Design Team of the Year 2014, the think tank Veryday from Sweden.
