Professor Dr. Mugendi K. M'Rithaa talks about "Co-creation and innovation for social change in Cape Town" at the PROUD Forum in Essen

From 29 April until 8 June 2014, the Red Dot Design Museum Essen presents an exhibition of a special kind. Tickling all senses and getting first-hand experience of award-winning products: By exploring the “Design Experience Laboratory”, visitors are encouraged to touch around and surprise themselves with the design of everyday items. This way, visitors experience materials and forms in a completely different perspective and get a multi-dimensional understanding of the basics of design. Günter Wermekes – jewellery designer, Red Dot juror and responsible for the Red Dot Trophy: At the suggestion of Red Dot he is now chosen as one of the candidates to present the design of the “Tang Prize” medal. In 2013, the Red Dot Trophy was awarded at the gala of the Red Dot Award: Product Design, for the first time. In 2012, Ely Rozenberg was awarded the Red Dot: Best of the Best for Flexita Grater, a food grater that transforms from two to three dimensions. It simply flattens when not in use and molds into a handy grip when needed. Crafted from harmonic steel, the metal that has a ‘memory’ and returns to its original flat shape after bending. The concept has since developed into a product and is now available in the market. More
