Exciting guided tour for children: Journey of discovery in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen

On Sunday, 29 December 2013, children from 8 to 12 years go on a journey of discovery in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen. Thereby, they will meet products, which they know from their everyday life, but also innovative items which will astonish them. From 3 – 4 p.m., the guided tour offers tomorrow’s creative minds an overview of award-winning designs from about 45 nations and facilitates them with a sense for good design quality. More »

Product auction of the Red Dot Design Museum Essen enthused bidders and visitors

On Sunday, 15 December 2013, more than 130 products were auctioned for a good cause in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen in Germany. About 120 design friends came to have a look at shapely products and to make a bid on their favourite piece. Some people seized the auction as exciting Christmas shopping, some were glad about design objects for their own four walls. Even auction professionals from the retail industry were there to buy objects for their own shops. More »

Agency of the year 2013 presents special exhibition: "FACE:DESIGN" in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen

Since mid-November, the Red Dot Design Museum Essen is presenting the special exhibition “Selected works of the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2013”. From 18 December 2013, the house will grant further exciting insights into the fascinating world of communication design: Mutabor, the most successful agency of the year 2013, presents itself with the room installation “FACE:DESIGN” which will be on show in the former boiler house of Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex until 2 February 2014. International design objects under the hammer

On Sunday, 15 December 2013, more than 130 international products come under the hammer in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen: from 4–in–1 trike buggy, which accompanies juniors aged six to 24 month, to a well-shaped bluetooth keyboard made of top-quality wood to a design wristwatch, which informs the person wearing it about what time it is in an innovative way. Those who are still looking for fancy Christmas presents for their beloved will make a catch and support a good cause at the same time: The complete proceeds are granted the human rights organisation Amnesty International without deductions. Slovenian Prime Minister visited the Red Dot Design Museum Essen

On 27 November 2013, the Slovenian Prime Minister Alenka Bratušek visited the Red Dot Design Museum Essen in Germany. The politician was welcomed by Vito Orazhem, managing director of the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen. Night at the Red Dot Design Museum: Free torch tour for families

On Saturday, 23 November 2013, well-shaped exhibits will come to new life – at night in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen. From 7 – 8 p.m., young and old will go on a discovery tour in the former boiler house of Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex. Innovative art fair contemporary art ruhr (C.A.R.) at the Red Dot Design Museum Essen

From 1 to 3 November the art fair contemporary art ruhr shows national and international contemporary creations in Essen, Germany. In the Red Dot Design Museum Essen and on the outdoor area of Zollverein World Heritage Site, visitors can encounter more than150 participants, among them famous art luminaries such as the Forum Kunst & Architektur, the Global Village Arts Association, or the KIRK Gallery. Against the setting of old industrial architecture, on an area of more than 5,000 square metres, institutions, art projects, -universities and -collections as well as selected C.A.R. talents gather.
