Riders Palace advertising material season 07/08

red dot award: communication design 2008

About 150 years ago, the healing quality of mountain air attracted people in need of recreation and recovery to come from far away to the back then still secluded villages of the Swiss Alps. Anyone who could afford it, spent summers and winters in the climatic spas – as a consequence, the region saw the building of hotels of many standards, alongside sanatoriums, as well as private residences of celebrities from all over the world. Today, these famous places combine winter sports, wellness and lifestyle with a vanguard architecture into an exclusive flair that offers unique experiences to all age groups.

These posters advertise concerts and parties in the Riders Palace in Laax, a designer hotel with integrated club. Built from stone, glass and wood this ski hotel with its purist appeal focuses on music and fun. The posters with their expressive typography integrate seamlessly into the entire corporate communication concept: Large-size, overlapping and intertwining letters constitute the formal elements of both the illustrations and the information, and, together with flyers, a set of emoticons or tear-off mini posters, they combine into a recognisable advertising tool with an emotional added-value. The brand thus draws the attention of a young target group to this trendy venue and generates long-term loyalty to the hotel.
