red dot award: communication design 2008

The Christian Blind Mission helps people with visual diseases as well as blind or otherwise handicapped people in “third world” countries with a primary focus on preventing and healing blindness. In 2008 it celebrated its 100th anniversary. The improvement of eyesight is visualised with typographical means using the impression of an eye chart. The characters on the chart, which spell “100 years Christian Blind Mission”, start off out of focus and become progressively sharper. Moreover, the yellow/black colouring refers to the colours of the symbol for the blind.
