Netherlands Chamber Choir

(Visual Identity)

red dot
red dot award: communication design 2008

The choir’s new visual identity had to appeal to an older and younger target group alike and convey values such as professionalism, passion and authenticity. The idea was to visualise the elusive aspect of music, which disappears as soon as it has been created. And since choir music is always based on lyrics, the visual identity is based on letters. The elusiveness is expressed through the font which avoids closed forms as much as possible. Moreover, the combination with photos of the choir and individual members is to present the ensemble as a group of highly talented individual singers.
