Tyron Montgomery

“In the Image Films category, individuality is in and anything goes. Basically, clear trends are out, and the spectrum ranges from matter-of-fact to playful.”

Tyron Montgomery, born in Ireland in 1967, studied physics before changing to the School of Art and Design Kassel to study visual communication with an emphasis on film, animation and photography. In 1996 he filmed “Quest”, the most successful German short film of all time, for which he received an Oscar and 40 other international distinctions. From 1997 he lived in Paris and founded his own film production company for visual effects, animation and advertising films. In 1998 he produced “Unser Garten” (Our Garden), the world’s first cinema-released puppet animation film shot entirely in digital. In 2000 he moved to Munich and founded AUGENREIZ, an agency for film, multimedia and Internet design. Since 1996 Tyron Montgomery has been a lecturer at a number of universities, among them the BAF (Bavarian Academy for Television).
