Prof. Dr. Zec Welcomes Japan’s Delegation in the red dot design museum

red dot is a competent and experienced partner when it comes to questions about the importance of design for industry and society within the global context, or about the most recent developments in international design. More and more designers and companies take advantage of the international network set up by red dot to benefit from this competence.

A short while ago Prof. Dr. Zec, initiator of the red dot design award and president of the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID), welcomed a group of Japanese designers, all members of the CIAJ (Communication and Information Network Association of Japan), to an expert visit. The CIAJ aims at realising a universal connectivity, and supporting companies to open up new markets in the sector of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), as well as enhancing the global competitiveness of Japanese companies. The designers of renowned international companies such as Toshiba, Panasonic or Fujitsu welcome the chance to exchange ideas with design and industry experts about future developments in the world of products. Prof. Dr. Zec discussed the trends on the European and Asian markets with his guests; he brought up the differences between the Western and the Asian cultures as well as the positions Japan and Germany are taking up in global competition.

The Japanese guests concluded their stay with a visit of the red dot design museum accommodating the largest exhibition of contemporary design worldwide.
