Ideas were the impetus for the economic and social changes in the 20th century. Ideas will be the impetus for change in the 21st century. Many companies and designers have changed our day-to-day lives with their products. They reflect the creativity of people who have known how to give form to their ideas and how to be successful with them. What is an idea, anyway? How does someone come up with one? The Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen has embarked on the search for successful ideas, and underscores with this publication not only the meaning of design as an impetus for economic growth, but also makes the connection with this exhibition of sustainable materials and technologies that ideas always need to take form in order that they can change our everyday culture and be economically successful.
