The DS1004 is a programmable industrial controller with IP 68 protection, the design of which was inspired by the appearance of external industrial support beams. Just as is the case with such beams, the X-form of this controller serves to lend it durability and structural strength. In a fusion of style and substance, the housing consists of one segment of simple-yet-robust extruded aluminium profile. The controller can be mounted on a DIN rail, while an optional front cover provides full protection against water and dust in accordance with IP 68. Thanks to its high-precision A/D and D/A channels, the controller is suitable for measurement and control applications in building and process automation or in the laboratory sector. Its programmability ensures the development of a system in which the device can itself make real-time intelligent decisions. Furthermore, it also possesses two low-voltage relays as well as a simple RS232/485 port, to which further serial devices such as a bar-code reader can be connected.
