The LifeCam Show is a slim webcam with a reflective back that looks more like a fashionable accessory than a technical device. It combines high-quality features (HD video, glass lens) in a compact form. An innovative magnetic attachment system has replaced the traditional clip, resulting in a smaller product that is easier to carry and more flexible in terms of mobile and home attachment options. To eliminate the bulk of a clip that often accounts for almost half of the volume in a notebook webcam, this camera has a magnetic “belly button” that connects to a low-profile metal dot fixed to the back of a laptop display. The self-locating magnetic connection is quick and easy, and just as easy to undo, enabling the user to quickly capture footage, for example, of dancing grandchildren. By placing a belly button on both the front and the back of the camera, it can be mounted to face towards the user or away from him. The same kind of magnetic connection is also used on accessories such as desktop stands for an elegant home-use solution.
