The Nokia N95 is a dual-mode quad-band mobile phone for use in UMTS and GSM networks. The N95 fulfils the demands on a multimedia device in the high-end sector. It features a five-megapixel camera with a Zeiss lens and displays video recordings in DVD-like quality. Thanks to an integrated GPS module the N95 can be used as a navigation device – it includes routing functions and map information for more than 100 countries. Furthermore, the user can check e-mails, listen to music and browse the Internet. An organiser for managing contacts and appointments is also included. In order to integrate these functions into the device in a user-friendly way, the dual-slide mechanism was invented: the cover of the phone slides in two directions to provide access to different functions.
