With the new Insignia, Opel has refined its design language to showcase the brand’s confidence with a bold, dynamic and sophisticated look that reinforces the model’s superb driving dynamics. The Insignia is an elegant car with sporty accents. Opel’s design philosophy combines sculptural artistry with German precision. The designers use wing and blade motifs to express this ideology. The exterior has a fluid, graceful silhouette. Sweeping wing-shaped front and rear light designs are enhanced by a prominent radiator grille. A distinctive blade is sculpted into the side panel, emphasising the car’s taut and muscular lines and adding to a sense of movement. The same wing and blade cues are found in the cabin as well, creating harmony inside and out. On opening the doors, the first impression is the warmth of a welcoming embrace from the wraparound interior. The wing theme is expressed in the lines that flow fluidly from the front of the instrument panel into the door panels in a downward dynamic curve. The exterior’s blade feature is echoed in the shape of the interior door grab handle and repeated in chrome shapes on the steering wheel and at the front of the centre console.
