The Honda Insight has been designed as a hybrid vehicle for everyone. Its more affordable price makes the car accessible for a broader range of people. The appealing hatchback design allows for good aerodynamics and a low fuel consumption while creating a dynamic impression. The exterior alludes partly to the first Insight from 1999 and adopts a similar shape as the FCX Clarity, Honda’s fuel cell car. By reducing concave surfaces in the interior, the Insight moves away from traditional design approaches. The two-layered instrument panel supports the driver to focus on the important information – the speedometer above the steering wheel and the main instrument panel underneath. Both provide feedback from the “Eco Assist System”. This coaching system can help any driver improve their fuel economy. The changing ambient color of the speedometer and the visual indication of driving style of the “eco guide bar” in combination with graphic plant symbols make it easy and enjoyable to achieve efficient driving.
