The design of the new premium train of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) fulfils aesthetic as well as communicative functions: form, colour scheme and lines as well as the writing evoke associations of dynamics and velocity but also safety, comfort and high-tech. The design concept of the ÖBB railjet has been developed for a longer product life cycle and therefore features discreet lines as well as a clear design language. The prominent, large lettering on both sides of the individual carriages serves as a strong distinctive feature.
