The design of the Mercedes-Benz SLK reflects the sporty and powerful character of the new SLK class and quotes racing characteristics in detail. A long bonnet, a low front screen, wide doors as well as a short rear end emphasise the roadster characteristics. This look is underlined by a clearly visible arrow-like front and rear end as well as a wedge-shaped silhouette with a dynamic character line. Interesting details, such as a prominently designed nose, sash profiles in the radiator grille and a double exhaust system, also emphasise the two-seater's sports car tradition. The 1996 Vario hood has been developed further and technically perfected. The newly designed interior has been upgraded with carefully selected materials.
