The Daihatsu Copen roadster is a compact small car with the qualities of a cabriolet and an electrically retractable aluminium hard-top. It is designed by an overall use of curved lines, which gives it the appearance of an "open-air bonsai". The vehicle's front and back are almost identical. This is achieved by the back taking over design elements of the front in the same or opposite shape. Extremely short, curved overhangs, the missing C column as well as a short wheel base of only 222.5 cm and a low profile underline the two-seater's compactness. The Daihatsu Copen has been designed as a right hand drive with direct steering. Its small turning circle of 9.2 m makes it easily man¦uvrable on country roads as well as in the city. Special tyres add to the stable handling characteristics.
