The Hallufix splint is an innovative new development for the correction of the disease Hallux valgus. This so-called painful bunion is a common disease – already in Germany over 10 millions humans are affected, predominantly women. The splint with the unique, patent-protected joint was developed in close cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute. It corrects the big toe malposition, reduces the risk of arthrosis and gives pain relief. By means of an integrated joint next to the bunion, the natural flexibility of the base joint of the big toe is retained while wearing the splint; thus one can carry Hallufix also during the day in comfortable shoes. A bandage holds the transversal arch and the pelotte supports the metatarsus. All parts are manufactured from qualitatively superior materials. Interdisciplinary cooperation resulted in a product that is applied for post-operative treatment or even to avoid surgeries beforehand.
