The designers’ goal in developing the DOC maxi was to create an operating chair that can be used for 75 per cent of all operations in a hospital while costing only 25 per cent of products currently available on the market. The new Dynamic Operating Chair is designed for day operations. A patient can sit comfortably on it, be moved by medical personnel, receive anaesthesia, be operated on in whatever position the surgeon requires, and then recover from the anaesthetic – all on the same chair. This means the patient does not have to be transferred to a bed, which relieves the patient and medical personnel alike. Consisting of six independent, movable parts, this operating chair is a widely usable product. The use of composite technology made it possible to disguise technical details, which gives the DOC maxi an elegant and patient-friendly look.
