The Mammorex Peruru MGU-1000A is a mammography device for the early diagnosis of breast cancer, the rates of which are increasing annually worldwide. The design of the unit is characterised by a plain, almost elegant appearance, and its smooth, rounded edges, together with the impression of cleanliness and bright colours, help to alleviate anxieties in women about to undergo examination. A new type of (patent-pending) handrest reduces the pain resulting from pressure on the breasts, and allows the operator to focus on the patient during the examination, instead of on the device. The unit can be adjusted to the patient’s physique and size. X-ray shielding is done using steel and aluminium, not lead. Most of the materials used in the construction are RoHS-compatible (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and conform to the new EU threshold limits for pollutants – thus making an active contribution towards increasing the rate of recycling.
