The new Speedglas SL welding helmet provides complete protection of eyes and face while weighing only 360 grammes. This low weight means that the user does not need to tighten the headband that much, thus preventing headaches. The new flexible headband also has a single hand tightener for easy adjustment and a quick release button. The helmet’s viewing window automatically changes from transparent to dark within a split second. A combination of liquid crystals and electronically operated optics provides the welder with this important protective function. Apart from offering protection against eye injuries when arc welding, the welding helmet prevents tired neck syndrome, a painful strain in the upper area of the spine. Thanks to an automatic function both hands of the welder remain free, and the jerky movement necessary to close the visor of a welding helmet is no longer required.
