The Connex500 is the first 3-D rapid prototyping machine which can simultaneously print parts with multiple materials, of different mechanical properties and colours. The subdued design with minimal details achieves an enigmatic look. The large, almost architectonic enclosure is broken down into clear volumes to scale down the visual perception to fit the office environment. The door handles are an integral part of the housing. The cover handle has a transparent strip which allows for the light of the printing-head to shine through to emphasise the operation.
