The cinevator ® five is a real-time digital film recorder and printer. It allows the transfer of digital film content onto the 35 mm negative film used in printing distribution copies for cinemas. In addition positive print film with sound and subtitles can be produced directly from the digital master. Its design speaks a purely functional language: each component and sub-system has been designed with the intended function in mind. The interaction between man and technology is based precisely on the required ergonomic principles. The 200 kg faceplate and the sophisticated, high-grade optical system follow this aspiration; the construction elements are not concealed under abstract covers but present themselves instead as vital elements of the visual appearance. At the same time, matt black surfaces on large parts of the visible components and the integration of graphic elements clearly identify the unit as a product associated with the film industry.
