Designed flexibility The office is changing. “Offices are looking more and more like living rooms and people also increasingly work on computers at home,” the designer Wijtse Rodenburg describes the current trend. The Ahrend 800 series designed by him includes desks and tables, also in height-adjustable versions, as well as low side tables, high lounge tables and sideboards. Thus, the Ahrend 800 series incorporates a contemporary development offering an innovative range of materials and colours. The system is based on a surprising and flexible concept, which leaves a lot of room for individual requirements for shapes, colours, decoration, and worktop material. The pieces of furniture have been designed for office use, but are also highly suitable for living rooms due to their design, measurements and choice of materials. Ahrend 800 is aimed at a target group who particularly looks for a table or desk combining representative qualities, use of high-quality materials, and a modern design. The central element of Ahrend 800 is a four-legged table made of stainless steel. This table is also available with closed sides and narrow drawer cabinets featuring an innovative ‘push-open’ system. Drawer fronts and decoration elements in the legs made of stainless steel or acrylate with a glass look can be combined with a variety of table tops. Therefore the table’s appearance adjusts to individual interior design requirements. Another characteristic element of the Ahrend 800 furniture series is its worktop made of 8 mm thick safety glass. This glass is available in a great range of finishes resulting from the use of transparent colours as well as décors, which include, among others, a functional ‘scratch’ version and a trendy ‘mix’ décor.
