Architecture and interior design

With their demands for a comfortable and relaxing ambience, passengers of the premium economy class are the target group for this textile aircraft interior. The idea of “contrast in harmony” formed the conceptual basis for the creation of three independent textile worlds. Although the range of textiles is meant to illustrate the differences between the individual cabin classes, it does so in a restrained manner. The design dispenses with the usual bold patterns and instead works with a distinct, modern style that is realised by means of subdued fabric structures and novel interlacing techniques – aiming at a subtle, multifaceted, and relaxing effect on the passengers. The appearance of the textiles changes with the perspective of the viewers and interacts with their perceptions: upon entering the cabin, a harmonious overall picture is revealed, yet when seated the passenger experiences the interaction of individual textiles. Despite the diversity of these textile worlds, the cabin appears homogenous and evokes a uniform atmosphere.
