New character – the spirit of change
While classic bathrooms in the 1950s followed rather pragmatic designs and small dimensions, today bathrooms are in the process of transforming into a spacious retreat for relaxation and contemplation. It takes time however, before new design dogmas establish themselves and changes are turned into reality. Furthermore, many bathroom owners cannot easily change the design of their bathrooms, simply because they live in rented accommodation. The simple consumer insight “I have to renovate my bathroom to have a new shower” served as catalyst for the design concept of the Rainshower Icon. With its unique aesthetic resonating innovation and change the thinking was to challenge this preconceived notion. Like any new prototype in its class, it reinterprets the aesthetic of the shower: a part of the bathroom that so far was of little interest for renewals has turned into a stylish and modularly exchangeable product that lends the bathroom a new character. What the design centres on and what is distinctive about the aesthetic is above all the innovative form of its spray face: instead of an outer frame it features an intrinsic chrome ring lending it a character that looks friendly and familiar, yet iconic in the bathroom. The shower head with its very flat design augments this iconic effect: it seems to entice interaction and creates an instant emotional connection. With Rainshower Icon, users can add a new aesthetic value to their old bathrooms, without having to renew it in its entirety. The highly iconic character of the hand shower is further enhanced through the choice of suggestive colours such as Moon White in combination with Eco Chic Green or the brand signature colour scheme StarLight Chrome with Night-time Grey. The Eco Chic Green in combination with the white was selected to emphasise that the product was created with our fragile environment in mind. Equipped with highly modern technology and ecologically sound functions, such as the eco button (aqua dimmer) and DreamSpray ensuring water is efficiently and evenly distributed to every single nozzle. A new icon for hand-held showering which embodies the spirit of change.
