For refined tastes Trying to define the essence of "functionality" is not easy - both its efficacy and human perception are far too complex. During his time at the Bauhaus, Walter Gropius dealt with the definition of an "eidetic inquiry" that serves human beings. He examined the backgrounds of that which is really useful. Considerations such as these are extremely important for an orientation in design. The true fascination of a well thought-out functionality, however, can reveal itself only in daily use. The Aromagic oil and vinegar carafes allow users to enhance the aroma of the oil or vinegar by placing fresh herbs or spices such as rosemary or garlic in the carafe. Since the herbs and spices together with the oil or vinegar usually have to remain in these carafes of minimalist design for quite a while in order to fully develop their flavours, the carafes can be sealed with a tightly fitting lid that preserves both aroma and flavour. The pouring spout of these Aromagic carafes, too, is an interesting feature of intelligent functionality: it solves both the problem of constant dripping and the difficulties of pouring the right amount of oil or vinegar without having it end up on the table or even the table-cloth. Due to a kind of stop mechanism, the pouring spout pours cleanly and precisely. With their highly specific aesthetics, these carafes along with the matching dressing shaker, are the expression of a well thought-out and intelligent functionality - thus, in a figurative sense, they also represent the scenarios of "refined taste".
