Time travels - designed mobility There is hardly any other cultural asset that is closer to people than luggage. For people who have to travel a lot - and today there are millions of them - their luggage has become a daily companion. Lightweight and equipped with wheels - originally borrowed from inline skates - today the suitcase is no longer a burden on journeys. Among all the Scope models, the upright case is the current version of this daily and ideally functional travel companion. With its innovative design it is an expression of a new and positive definition of luggage. At first sight, however, the suitcase takes on a rather unusual look: the housing is a combination of colour co-ordinated fabrics matched with parts made from light aluminium - materials that are the outcome of new production techniques. The suitcase has been designed with well thought-out details such as a quick access pocket on the outside to stow away last minute items. Meant for travelling and easy to use, the suitcase features soft-rolling wheels and a wide pull handle with release button. Another important design aspect of the case is that through its very design it also conveys an interesting lightness of modern mobility. Not entirely without self-irony, it is described as "un-luggage" by its designer, Marc Newson, and this model implies a fun factor which is certainly not non-essential. This is emphasised further by the collection's bright palette of colours such as vibrant orange, brilliant yellow, electric blue and modern grey. Thus, the suitcase successfully transforms traditional and utilitarian luggage, taking it to the next level of design. For the mobility of our times.
