red dot: To what extent do you think the red dot: best of the best has helped your company to compete in the global marketplace?

EOOS Design: The many entries from international design firms mean that one can automatically see the global context of one’s work, which is very positive. You get to see what the others are doing.

red dot: What particular challenges did you face in the realization of your product?

EOOS Design: Translating an old, culturally-bound ritual to a fresh, technological context – and achieving that within a very small area.

red dot: What role did environmental considerations play in the design of your product?

EOOS Design: Materials, where they are sourced and whether they can be recycled, are matters which are given very serious consideration at Inipi. In addition, the significance of the short heating time and minimal volume should not be underestimated. However, ecological aspects can only function within a larger system. To reduce the ecological impact, it naturally makes a big difference whether Inipi products are powered by green electricity or atomic power…

red dot: What dream projects would you like to work on one day?

A sauna that uses no power…
