11/11 2009:
ADC elects Jochen Rädeker as new chairman
Jochen Rädeker, managing partner of Strichpunkt, the red dot: design agency of the year 2008, is the new chairman of the Art Directors Club for Germany.
Jochen Rädeker plans to open club membership to professionals from “non-classical” communication disciplines. The new departments complementing the regional sections—namely design, digital, editorial, and spatial communication, advertisement, as well as research and teaching —will facilitate exchange within the club.
The designer Jochen Rädeker founded Strichpunkt in 1996 together with Kirsten Dietz. An ADC member since 2003, he has been on the executive board since 2004. Mr. Rädeker is the first ADC chairman who does not come from “classic” advertisement. Preceding chairmen of the ADC, founded in 1964, were Amir Kassaei, Willy Fleckhaus, Reinhart Wolf, and Sebastian Turner. Membership to the ADC is only open to those who have been internationally successful and creative over at least five years, who were recommended by club members, and following a personal interview.
