red dot award: communication design 2009

The packaging aims to make the lives of patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis easier, using a relatively radical concept. The packaging’s friendly design promotes the patient’s compliance by promising a positive, caring user experience. The box is easy to open and thanks to the practically curved gaps the fingers can easily slide in and remove the syringe. In three steps the design guides the user through the process, and the tray’s form takes into account the patient’s limited dexterity when it comes to removing the syringe. The information is clear and well-structured, presented in a very personal and respectful language.
