“Design is an attitude”

In the course of the past 25 years, KMS TEAM developed from a design studio to a leading company for brand strategy, brand design and brand communication. It was founded in 1984 by Knut Maierhofer and Michael Keller and now employs more than 85 staff members in the disciplines of consulting/strategy, corporate design, communication design, 3D design, event design, interactive design, motion design, text/concept, financial communications, pre-press and production. Managing directors are: Michael Keller, Knut Maierhofer, Christoph Rohrer (all three of them are owners as well) and Armin Schlamp.

Philosophy and workflow of KMS TEAM are based on an approach called “Tiefendesign (depth design)”. This concept comprises all strategic and artistic aspects of brand development and embeds them in a comprehensive process. Since 2009 KMS TEAM, in cooperation with its subsidiary KMS MINDSHIFT, places an additional focus on the development of personnel, teams and organisations. At the beginning of this year, an additional office was opened in New York. A wide range of training and coaching services derives from the perception that ideas, concepts and strategies will only be successful if they are supported and filled with life by people and staff.

In 1998 KMS TEAM won a red dot design award for the first time. Since then the company has received a red dot each year and was able to gain the highly treasured quality label as often as 52 times. This first-class performance is crowned with the honorary title “red dot: design agency of the year” in 2009.
