20/01 2010:
red dot new talents: the decision had to be made by drawing lots!
Young designers had the chance to register for a total of 50 free registrations for the upcoming red dot award: product design 2010. Even though this campaign only ran for 24 hours on the red dot website, almost 150 creative professionals from 24 nations applied, among them Argentina, New Zealand and Colombia. Due to the large response the winners of the 50 registrations had to be decided by drawing lots.
This campaign, which was held for the first time ever, is specifically aimed at promoting young talent. Since it is often very difficult for designers to gain access to the industry, the red dot design award as one of the largest and most renowned international design competitions aims to help strengthen the trust of potential clients in the creative performance of young talent.
Besides the free participation in the red dot award: product design 2010, the products of the young designers will, in case they win an award, also be presented free of charge in the red dot design museum and the competition yearbook, among others. In total, the promotion package is thus worth approximately 2,500 euros per entrant if they win an award.
